Ahmadinejad @ Columbia -- No Homosexuals in Iran!

On September 24, 2007, Columbia University and its School of International and Public Affairs invited Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to speak on campus as part of Columbia University's World Leaders Forum.In response to a question about Iran's treatment of women and homosexuals, he asserted that women are respected in Iran, and stated "In Iran, we don't have homosexuals, like in your country. We don't have that in our country. In Iran, we do not have this phenomenon. I don't know who's told you that we have it."

I think what he meant was, "We don't have homosexuals...anymore."

I don't believe in any of this religious mumbo-jumbo, whether it's Islamic, Christian, Judaic or any other major thing like that.

Are there homosexuals in Iran? Yes. It's a fact of life. They just learn to keep it quiet.

However, I think you are seriously misinformed about the group as a whole.

There are Christians in the southern states that practice incest as well, yet that's not a "norm" for normal Christian believers.

@Velethyn In Iran they have such a fundamentally ignorant understanding of homosexuality that they confuse being gay with being transsexual, so it's either prison or a sex change. This ridiculous mentality is almost beyond belief.

@elicash80 Do you have any evidence or proof of this? Much of Europe is still quite religious, but we atheists in general are respectful towards theists once they're respectful towards us. The atheist movement is happening in America too you know, just as a much slower rate, but America will soon realise that Christianity is unrealistic and very unlikely to be true.

Evolution supports homosexuality, pedophilia and incest by proclaiming them as natural and needed for survival. Christianity doesn't support such dirt and Cain never had sex with his sister. Other humans were created otherwise Cain wouldn't have feared for his life, telling God that people might kill him if he is exiled from the land. This supports the view that others humans existed and were living elsewhere.
