Animation I created for Toyota that gives an overview of the components of an engine, how an engine works and some of Toyota's valve, intake and exhaust technologies. I wrote, directed and storyboarded the video, unfortunately we had to utilize a low-budget animator so some of the graphics are wonky but it was a tutorial for training so if you hate Toyota, chill out.

  • This VVT-I scares me. That's a lot more that can go wrong leading to much more expensive repairs. Are there three chains in the cam drive system? Are these chains intended to last the life of the engine, or do they need to be changed as a maintenance item like the belts are changed?

  • @dojmike Toyota has been using VVT-i and related valve technologies since 1991. They also use timing chains instead of belts for reliability. Timing chains should last as long as any other engine components.

  • Nuh uh!!!! The 1JZ and 2JZ are inline 6's!

  • @Crabclaws This was about current engines.
