Amtrak Train 49, the Lake Shore Limited to Chicago, pulls into Croton-Harmon for its first station stop after leaving New York-Penn Station. Today's consist is Genesis P32ACDM 700 with 11 cars, comprised of a baggage car, Amfleet II coaches and cafe car, a Horizon car, and Viewliner Sleeper cars. Some of these cars are the Boston section, which is here because there is lots of track work on the Boston line. Check out the un-named Viewliner at the rear of the train. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on May 27th, 2009.

  • 62039 is supposed to be the "Stream View".

    Good observation Dave!

  • Cool...now is that actually a note in the roster? I'm not sure why they would have left it out on the naming board, if that's the case....

  • they don't have an engine switch in this line

  • Amtrak is currently removing viewliner names, just like the superliner 2 sleeper "state named" cars.

  • Is this where they change locomotives- from electric to diesels?

  • it was in a derailment back in 05, and probably in an effort to rush it back to service it got overlooked.
