This is me (Daniel Almond) getting stopped by Sandy Springs PD for speeding. The second thing the officer asked me, after asking for my license, was if I had any firearms. I responded that I was choosing to exercise my right to remain silent on that question. That answer prompted the officer to have me get out of the car for a pat down. The officer told me that the reason for his question (about firearms) was because I had a "right to carry" sticker on my car. Yes, he actually said that. It's a sticker for Georgia Carry.org (GCO) Although the audio isn't 100% clear for that part, you can clearly hear him reference the sticker when talking to me and to another officer. Additionally, it appeared as if "back up" had been called, because there were 3 police right cars behind me and two more across the street. In the end, I got a ticket for speeding and for not having a working light bulb over my license plate.

lol... Good point, however most know this point. Your civil liberties, regardless of 'supposed' to not be violated, are still violated by law enforcement on a daily-basis. What's even better(?), they lie in the report about what you did, or didn't do if you dare defy them. Defiance is now a capital crime (i.e cop kills woman for rolling down window).... Your 'rights', are being picked apart by politicians. Also, law enforcement, doesn't give a shit about them!

  • @fmnma1 This is a good point to fight.

Your rights cannot be held against you so the cop saying he had a right to carry sticker is not reason to search him. The cop was holding his right against him. That is unconstitutional. Its the same as holding his right to remain silent against him. Saying he won't answer questions is not a reason to escalate against him.

  • GCO is the best will ((ALWAYS STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS!))

  • "They are a good organization... just got some weirdos in it I guess".

So choosing to remain silent and not cooperate with police as they try to find you guilty of a crime is being weird now?

  • @bigharold11

You can make a Freedom of Information Act request. They have to supply you with it by law if you request it.

  • thought cops were suppose to be fit?

  • A communist Chinese once asked why Americans are so in love with guns, to which the response was given well how else do you think the Brits were ran out twice? And if the Chinese did not have privileges, but rights, like the 2nd. right to keep & bear arms, maybe Tienanmen Square never would have happened?

  • Yes he might be right about organizations, they might have some weirdos in them, like police departments?

  • @bigharold11 public record

  • George Carlin said it best: "We don't have rights. We have privileges which the goverment can suspend anytime they want."
