A six-minute explanation of what Net Neutrality is and what the debate is about. This is a hot-button topic. I did strive to give a fair overview of the positions of both those who support and those who oppose government-enforced net neutrality.

Note that both sides are fighting for a free internet, they just disagree on whether corporations or governments are a bigger danger. For further reading:

  • @fab4bear No bill was discussed in the video or the comments. You should not tell people to wake up until you've at least gotten a handle on the conversation.

  • Thank you for posting this video. Now even an old fart like me understands it. Thanks again.

  • Very informative. The next time my parents ask me what the internet is, I'll show them this.

  • The Patriot Act is not "patriotic" at all!!! It allows the government to spy on me!!

Is Net Neutrality really out to make the Internet neutral??? Or is it another lying name for a bill that allows the government to regulate and censor the Internet?

  • Neat !!

  • I think the "Digital Divide" and "net neutrality" projects are part of government-controlled internet. Taxpayers already provide free cell phones for those on government assistance. You can get internet service at any public library. With only 49% of the USA paying taxes, seems to me "too many are riding in the wagon and not enough PULLING!"

  • First thing first... The lobbyists for the different providers are going to do their job and get passed whatever the provider wants in Washington.

Secondly, most people in appointed positions in Washington are currently from big business and corporate interest backgrounds.

  • nice;)
