Capitalism is the way the world works, whether we like it or not. President Obama is trying, against stiff opposition, to reign in the worst excesses of free market capitalism with his reforms of Wall Street. But Professor David Harvey, Marxist author of The Enigma of Capital says he's wasting his time. He tells Sarah Montague that capitalism is amoral and lawless, and should be overthrown.

Capitalism is the economic system of individualism and freedom. It is the expression of freedom in an economic sense. This guy misinterprets what capitalism is all about.

They are desperatly trying to get popular support for the labour foot soldiers of the unions who are ripping off tax payers. The BBC and the unions both need labour to help keep their 6 figure salaries and power base. Political corruption stinks.

I like that Harvey isn't some stonefaced bore and actually engages with the interviewer without getting hostile/dismissive, unlike most HARDtalk guests
