nah brody, marc ribot is more complementary (by being more 'out there') and still tears it up ... sco is great, perhaps even more skilled in traditional jazz guitar, but he is too 'conventional' for these guys; often times you get a very disjointed sound from MSMW, an esoteric battle between 'ski and sco' ... I feel that the true MMW heads dig marc's presence

Hard to find a video with zero dislikes. MMW rules.

Anybody else notice that when Medeski has a backline B3 he doesn't play it as much as when he brings his own A100?
-
@ironlionzionBrian Scofield = skilled, but boring as hell. MMW = Too funky for Sco

@ironlionzionBrian Ribot's got my vote, every time ;-)

what effect does chris have on his bass. I love that distorted kind of sound. is it a pedal?
-
umm tasty I love how they come into the groove and then just take off

Agree wholeheartedly. Seems Scofield sort of takes center stage, and John is pushed back to a complimentary role. With Ribot, he often accents the music bit let's John & the boys go off on their own thing....

OK, thanks
