There both great versions, as they both represent different aspects of the human condition and musical feelings. Just because it's different, doesn't make it any less good. As long as it's genuine

I got all excited when I heard it was a stones cover, and wanted to hear it, and I was absolutely amazed at how little i liked the stones version. The guns and roses video on youtube of them singing it is just as HORRIBLE! It's quite the testament to townes imo that he can make it so hard to believe that he didn't write the song in the first place.

@fmayson It is a cover of a Rolling Stones song. I'm not really sure why this is an argument, as it's easy to look up. Still, Townes did it better. :)
