  • If I were to build a flatbed out of diamond plate, what thickness should I go with?

  • @HedgehogOutdoors

The thickest that you can possibly afford.

  • Thats awesome man!!! Love the time lapse!!!! Should throw some "non-WMG" music in there!!!

  • Nice

  • you know you're a redneck if your truck modifications involve a chainsaw. nice flatbed. i can't decide on an s10 or a ranger to mod like this.

  • @nesfreak91 haha i gotta 98 dakota box is in great condition but in august im thinking about doing this cause i need more room haha:P

  • @ChuckE2009 But what do you think is the very minimum thickness for putting something onto the flatbed so it won't bend?

  • How does your truck do with a load on it? Just wondering if it rubs because I am thinking about ripping the rusted out POS bed that is on my S10 off and building something similar to yours and I haul quite a bit of stuff(appliances and such). Will a standard 4x4 bolted to the frame with 2x10's covering the 4v4 leave plenty of room for the truck to 'squat' with a load on it? Or should I get 4x6's to bolt to the frame?

  • if i can keep my 1999 dodge dakota around till the box rusts out enough to fall off then i will build a wooden box on the frame just like this. great vid. i give it 5 stars :)

  • This is uber bad ass. Now you can (If you didn't already, being this vid is over a year old) create some removable sidewalls to use it as a stake bed as well.

  • how has it held up after a year?
