  • Yes, eating pork was forbidden already before Jesus threw demons into pigs. It's forbidden back in Leviticus, together with all the other animals that aren't cloven-hooved and chew the cud.

  • More than any other, this gospel shows jesus as a guy making a power play . He talks more about the coming wars and Barabbas is charged as an accomplice in the " insurrection " . Who commited murder in the insurrection .

  • Some say the differences in the gospels are there because they were made for different audiences . That's another problem I have . Why change the message ? Why change the day he dies ? Why change the relationship between Jesus and the magdalaine ? I could understand changing some of the names or or analogies to suit different cultures, but not dates .

  • its really amazing.... the bible is the most sold book of all time, still. do you think the world will end in 2012? nobodies knows

  • Regarding the fig tree, you're definitely on the right track. When you look at it in context, Jesus was using it as a symbol for Israel, because by this point in His ministry it was clear He'd ultimately be rejected as the promised Messiah. There's more than can be said regarding the time of year and why He knew the tree would not produce fruit, but that's easily researched. The good news is, He ultimately took our curse upon himself at the cross.

  • Good video. Each of the four gospels was written with a particular audience in mind, and thus they emphasize different things. This gospel was written for Christians suffering persecution by Rome, as an encouragement to them. That's why it reads like a fast-paced book of action and miracles. Matthew was written to make the case to Jews that Christ was their Messiah; Luke was written as a way of introducing Christ to gentiles, or non-Jews; and John makes the case for Christ's divinity.
