IBM Research Creates NANO Microscope 100 Million Times Finer IBM Research Creates Microscope With 100 Million Times Finer Resolution Than Current MRI IBM Research's nanoMRI microscope IBM Research scientists, in collaboration with the Center for Probing the Nanoscale at Stanford University, have demonstrated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with volume resolution 100 million times finer than conventional MRI. This result, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), signals a significant step forward in tools for molecular biology and nanotechnology by offering the ability to study complex 3D structures at the nanoscale. By extending MRI to such fine resolution, the scientists have created a microscope that, with further development, may ultimately be powerful enough to unravel the structure and interactions of proteins, paving the way for new advances in personalized healthcare and targeted medicine. This achievement stands to impact the study of materials from proteins to integrated circuits for which a detailed understanding of atomic structure is essential. • I hate your voice.

  • Does everything have to be geared around medicine? Why not study the reactions between molecules so that we can eliminate the need for medicine. Once we find out what causes the errors in cell reproduction we will have no need for medicine. HBJON

  • nice one!

  • @hbjon Eliminating the need for medicine/Drugs/Profit is waging war on a nation/Industry's that are extremely powerful. Unless you want to go against muliti billion$ funded system chances are there will be no cures for anything lol.

  • IBM, in WWII they helped hitler round up the jews.

  • @serolog2 Me too...I thought it was a stupid comment.

  • @hbjon Medicine makes money hence why the fucks dont want to give it up!

  • @hbjon I don't think you'll ever be able to avoid all illness, that's like avoiding all car accidents. There are simply too many variables. Nice to dream though.

  • Also, if there is an industry that sucks up 43 percent of all the gross national product because of disease, it is easy to understand why there is disease. I guess what this says is that disease can be driven purely by a profit motive. Will we ever really know what happened in the Nazi concentration camps?

  • @hbjon unfortunately the disease is more than errors in cell reproduction. It is the extension of norm and often marginal extent of natural variability. Until there is competition in nature, there will be diseases. Surprised by +10 thumbs up

  • @hbjon Cure first, Stop completely later.

  • @hbjon easy, there's no money in a cure.. the money is in the treatment.
