This is not blues at all... and there attempts at certain blues shapes are scary at best. Their wcs is so stiff and has no anchors nor the elasticity of 'feeling' the music. TITLE FAIL.
much more accurate to describe as WCS w/o slot. while technically proficient, they sacrificed emotion & lyricism for speed - a failing that's not limited to dancing when it comes to the arts.
I'm also a Blues instructor and I concur with SwingboyPA. I also know Gui. This is an older video- it's obvious just based on his style. It's not a blues song, and the dancing isn't blues. Gui can however, blues dance when the music calls for it. I'd say the video title could be changed a bit to better represent the style.
@SwingboyPA Your totally entitled to your opinion, I just think its ironic your name is swingboyPA and somehow you can speak for both Sinatra and the entire Blues community to include teachers and students coast to coast.
Not sure why you think I'm trolling...? There isn't much agreement that this is blues dancing and a lot of other folks mentioned WCS without a slot. At least I'm being generous enough to admit that Blues dancing has a wide variety of styles. Hey, it got put it up on you tube and got a lot of feedback = "not Blues".
Get in front of a Blues Dancing teacher and they will ask 'where's the Blues aesthetic'?
If you think Frankie did that late at night at a rent party ...well, he didn't.
@SwingboyPA trollings not cool man... but obviously seeing how your name is "swingboyPA" your an expert on all things blues-west-coast, so I'll let you take the hit on this one
Also, this is definitively NOT blues dancing in and of itself. There is nothing that you could define as historically "African American vernacular dance".
I think WCS without a slot describes the *vocabulary* of this dance, but not the technique or aesthetic (WCS is all about subtlety).
I'm not saying I think it's "wrong" or anything -just that it's hard to call this "blues dancing".
The blues dancing scene encompasses a LOT of dancing -I'll understand if some folks disagree.
Whoa, frantic. A little more play with the rhythm would have been good. Could have have easily followed the lyrical rhythm rather than the beat in a few spots for contrast.

@joytank3 Actually, I'm both a blues dance and WCS teacher and SwingboyPA was quite right. He also wasn't trolling. I think he was very respectful.
