A fact that is all but forgotten today is that, in old-school Xingyi, the old masters sometimes opted for a more forward stance (like in some Tai Chi patterns), rather than the Santi stance. Today, Xingyi has evolved to a point that the forward stance is almost never used. However, considering Master Ho Fok San's age, and that this was apparently from 1980, he might very sell simply be doing an old-school method of Xingyi that is no longer taught.
Xingyi quan has a few demands in order to be called xingyi. This guy is performing Xingyi's form but he doesn't have few of the basic xingyi characters - weight distribution, 6 harmonies (liu he). Body should not lean forward (or backwards or sideways). Shen fa should have Dragon body (long shen) which has a wave-like motion in the spine.
@jingang so your saying his transition to delivery is short, and he is off stance, a question I have for you is, is there a reason why he would change his delivery and ultimately making his transition short? Also in your opinion is there not any reason why his rear foot is pointing outside? Obviously I don't know know about this system but I would say that the reason his rear foot is staying on the outside is to maintain a superior position on the outside of the opponent. What about his power?
timoxe, his 3 outer harmonies (3 out of 6 in liu-he) and not connected. His front leg arrives long before his hand (00:17). Santi stance (00:18) should be on rear leg (no matter what lineage it's usually carries between 100% to 50% of body weight but never less than 50% as we can see here). Rear foot is pointing outside which affects his ability to advance. There are more points but these are more than enough.
