the AWPs real weakness is the time it takes between each shot. Of course the best way to counter it, is to attack with atleast 2 guys so one of them can always make the refrag if needed. Even better in close distance of course, that's true ;)

I understand your sentiment, and it's one I had for a long time when only playing casually. Playing competitively really opened my eyes to the game balance and helped me significantly. I suggest it, if you haven't.

Every weapon has weaknesses and strengths. The AWP's weakness is close range. The way to counter that is to not be out of position in an area that you should expect there to be an awper. Use smokes to close the distance. Use flashbangs to give yourself time to close the gap.
