It does not matters if the cammera is just focussed on the flute player, for us, the composers, this is what are we looking for, beacause we are looking for how stravinsky uses the flute in the orchestra, and this is a perfect example of how hi does.

@shrinandan .... this is clearly the flutist's youtube channel, so that would be why the camera is focused on her.

This is a good performance. Both, the conductor and the orchestra, are very talented. Unfortunately the videographer didn't do justice to the orchestra. One fixed angle on a handfull of players is just not enough. Many players contributed to this performance. Most didn't get face time. Next time hire a better videographer!

Very good job on your solo and you guys sound really good. This is my favorite piece and still remember all the work it took to get this to performance level good job.

I agree with otterhouse - the sound is very great!!! I tried to find any good playing of the First Scene of Petrushka at YouTube. And found that there was nothing closed to Evgeni Svetlanov version. But I found this playing is very closed to Svetlanov! IMHO

When I read "Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra" the name did not promise much... But it's a very fine orchestra!! I like these youtube surprises. Going to google out the orchestra... Thanks for posting it.
