THE NIPCC report is a great read -
shows where the AGW crowd "manipulated" data to meet GOV predetermined outcomes.

AND AGW is sponsored by BIG GOV.
What's the difference?

Because the government has a duty to the voters and Exxon only seeks profits. The government isn't always great, but it's generally better than the corporations.

I would say the Government takes away YOUR Rights and forces Taxes on you while Corps only wish to profit.
As an example, Exxon may make only $0 .05-$0.15 per gallon of gas sold at the station - BUT Govt's tax one gallon of gasoline at about $0.50-.70. BIG GOV makes way more money on Gasoline sales than Big Oil.

And that money goes to pay for our armies and our schools and our interstate highway system. It is the country that makes money off the gasoline tax. The money paid to Exxon goes into private hands.

Agreed; we need an army, schools and roads and hospitals. But where do you draw the line? Who is watching these folks?
The waste is INSANE. The US GOV has $11,787,062,206,713.50 in long term debt, as of Sept 4th 2009. Fine if you really built long term assets - but the GOV does not -they blow it - to get elected.

No one on the left will get these funds to build a school or a hospital.

Darkfrog24: Just so YOU know, it HAS been getting colder the past several years...including this year. I guess the fact that it is getting colder is proof for you that there is global warming. Another fact....the government intends to raise taxes to get themselves rich on this hoax.

polarbear...EXACTLY. I am sitting here in San Diego and I am FREEZING right now. Other years...we turn on the AC at least 3 weeks out of August and 1-2 in September...but not ONCE have we this year and Agust is almost over. In fact..it rained yesterday.

I know there are changes in the Earth that are part of nature. It's too bad that Al Gore, the UN and ohers were able to convince some suckers enough to laugh all the way to the bank.

Pisses me off...damn crooks

Total donations from all energy companies combined - oil, coal, nuclear, natural gas - is less than 5%. Exxon hasn't contributed a dime since 2006. In any event, who funds whom is not as relevant as the scientific validity of the arguments. (Grrenpeace gets funds from insurance companies who insure against climate change disaster)
