This is a private Micro Hydro power plant, it's located near Mangina village. Mangina is about 30 km west of Beni City eastern D.R.Congo. It was built in the 80s by Brother Mario a Catholic missionary from Italy living in Mangina and the Italian NGO "Associazione Mondo Giusto". The generated electricity is used at Mangina Parish and the local hospital. Many rivers in the region has potential sites of hydro electricity but the DRC government lacks initiatives to make it profitable for the people...without electricity development is not easy. (2x36kW Crossflow turbine, at this time only turbine No.1 is running. No.2 has alternator exciter breakdown)
