There has been a lot of debate about this video and I think it's about time I as the dog's owner write something about it. I posted it under "Kal and Larisa" just to show it to my friends. I guess Mabinogikaworukun thought a lot more people would see it if it was called "wolf dog..." and he or she was right. Since then it has been shown on several web sites and TV shows. Some things we really can't know - for example what exactly Kal is thinking while howling, but some things are facts. The dog in the video is an alaskan malamute. It is absolutely impossible to know why he howls when Larisa cries, but he does. She is now almost two years old and she rarely cries for real, but when she does, Kal still howls. My other malamute, Navasky, only once joined him. They howl together when the're left alone - again it's impossible to know if the're bored or sad or something else... About three months ago our second baby was born and Kal is back to his old habit. Mislav is three months old and mostly cries when he's hungry, but when he cries he really means it. Kal wants to howl every time but we have a lot of neighbours so most of the time we have to tell him to stop... and of course do whatever it takes to stop Mislav from crying. :)

  • Baš je simpatičan...

  • Maybe he thinks she's howling too? I read somewhere that your dog howling after you or whatever shows that they think of you as their pack leader? Just an idea!

  • lovely & peaceful

  • Such beautiful dogs, and a good singer ;-)

  • Great, lullaby singer for the baby so that he sleeps.

  • How Beautiful! Animals are Precious!! What a great baby-sitter and wonderful at singing 'lullabies'!

  • I had an Alaskan Malamute growing up, and again as an adult. Great dogs, interesting vocal abilities....
