Kick to the groin for a first move probably not going to be effective, all men know that the groin is going to a target and protect themselves, a groin kick as a second or third strike could work better. Thanks for the comments. We teach our students to be aware of multiple targets to attack in addition to the groin--knees, eyes, etc. What's important in this case is the principle--causing some pain to take the attackers mind before wrestling your way our of their grip. The escape on the circle motion happens after the circle is complete, not at the start. We also teach the thumb escape as well. Unfortunately, we can only cover so much in a 30 second news spot.
