agreed. The only thing I liked about old pride rules was the round set up. The 10 minute first round was a good idea. Oh, and the soccer kicks stomps and knees to the head. ::thumbs up::
I think that the ring is biased to strikers, and creates stand ups. 90% of new fans are like, "WTF is going on?" when they watch a ring match and the stand up and move occurs. This never occurs with a cage.

it has to be also a show man ...IN a perfect world then there would be then no time matches so bjj guys can get their sub done ..BUT NO ..the ring helps people to watch better, fight better instead of run away...

PS...only Americans like shapes with 8 sides? All non-Americans prefer squares? What does nationality have to do with this again? Yeah....
Not to mention, I never said anything about the UFC or any other org, just that the ring is not good for MMA. Ring is good for boxing and other standup only sports.

The ring presents unnecessary stops in the action, provides a corner for strikers like cro cop to corner someone and look better than they really are. The octagon corners give less advantage to certain styles. You are probably one of the fail guys that thinks the yellow cards were good. Anything that stops the fight from being legit (stand ups, stopping due to the ring being a bad venue, telling a fighter their strat is too "boring" to be used)are disruptive to the sport. Sport > show.
