Meet Paul Polansky the campaigning author who uncovered and exposed the Czech Romany holocaust camp at Lety. As a new film reveals how the Czech government still hasn't dismantled a pig farm built on this holocaust site, Jake Bowers interviews the man who just won't let this untold holocaust story remain untold.
A written response to Polansky's comments from the Czech Ambassador to the UK will be posted on our website as soon as we receive it. www.travellerstimes.org.uk
Paul, great interview and informative. Will continue to find an audience here in TN. Stay strong......Class of 60.

@nacho1560 Hi,I tried to word"stood in the path"carefully as"just being along the way"of the tanks,so to speak, rather than as "impeding"(notwithstanding Romani,Sinti,Jewish, even black people in anti-Nazi resistance movements). My emphasis is on recognising who the attacker was and whom the victim.I sense there is something in the idea that E.Europe had large Jewish(urban)populations and large(rural)Romani populations,so defining them as enemies was useful. It's also pure divide and rule.

@NicosNicosNicosNicos I agree with what you're saying. But still find it hard to believe why these people were viewed as a threat to Germany's plans to invade other lands. Jehovah Witnesses only crime was they refused to salute Hitler as they would refuse to salute any ruler but God. I know they wanted a pure race, a super race, so in their eyes disabled and other weak opponents had to go. But they surely weren't a threat to their imperial plans.

@nacho1560 Well, the big secret is that the only threat to anyone came from the Nazi regime -to anyone who stood in the path of Hitler's imperial plans.
Roma, Sinti, Jehovah's Witnesses, homosexuals, Jewish people, disabled people, black people...Only propaganda would make anyone believe Germany was "defending itself" against a "threat" when it was busy invading.

Brilliant that one man is doing so much to remember people others chose to forget. The Czechs should be exposed if they perpetrated mass murder in this camp. I've never understood why gypsies should have been seen as any threat to the Germans, Czechs or anyone else for that matter.
