Vernal Falls- Yosemite

So this year July 18th, 2011 the falls were the biggest they have been in a long time due to the concentration of snow melt on the tops of the mountains.

Also apparently a few people died just one day after our hike. They were taken over the falls. So tragic. WoW.

Hey Guys. Thanks for commenting. If you could keep the harsh stuff about grandma wanking to yourself that would be awesome. The people who were swept over are totally at fault. They were screwing around (taking pictures) BEYOND the barrier and 1 person slipped. A second person lunged for the 1st and went in too. The third did the same and the same thing happened. This all happened right after a dad climbed over the railing with his 6 year old in his arms to take a picture next to the falls. The kid was screaming bloody murder as the dad laughed. Just plain stupidity.

@lilbrother45 yeah, what a tragic mess. I had a near death experience where I almost slipped and fell over a 100 ft ravine, I was able to stop myself inches from the edge. From that moment on, I have realized that it is important to respect nature and understand that there is a difference between bravery and stupidity. So tragic that some of don't and cant gain the seriousness of an action.

The last time I was up there was in "08" but the falls were pretty weak that year so weak you could walk up to those trees in the middle of the river. But this looks nice and so does your GF buddy.
