The Ford Country Squire LTD was the #1 selling wagon during this period as it had the superior 3 way tailgate compared to GM's and Chrysler's 2 way tailgate.
Olds didnt have a full size wagon like the Country Squire from 65-70. Vista Cruiser is based on the Cutlass line which would compete against Torino or Fairlane wagons if your a Ford enthusiast. GM introduced the clamshell tailgate on fullsize wagons from 71-76: Olds Custom Cruiser, Chevy Kingswood Estate, Pontiac Grand Safari, and whatever Buick had. Olds were higher priced than Ford. Chevy would be a better comparison since both Ford and Chevy are budget priced high volume models.
This was one of GM's experiments that actually worked . It had more cargo space and legroom than a full sized wagon, but weighed less and got better mileage. It sat a third of the way between a wagon and an minivan. It actually took the place of Oldsmobile's full sized wagons until '71.
