Beijing Aviation Museum 2009

The Beijing Aviation Museum is located about 40 miles north of Beijing near the town of Changping. See up close the very latest 'state of the art' 4th generation jet fighters like the J-10 and J-11.

The day before I was returning home to the UK, I was lucky enough to visit the Beijing Aviation museum on the day it reopened to the public. For lovers of military aircraft the museum it is a must see for anyone visiting China.

I must mention that on leaving the museum I was having great difficulty in finding transportation back to Beijing. Fortunately I was met by a very kind Chinese lady who gave me a lift to Changping city and then helped me find the right bus to Beijing. She was an absolute angel :-)

Indeed, China's economy has grow amazing quickly in the past few years. Rapid advancement to its infrastructure and growth in manufacturing will make China the Superpower of the 21st century.

i just went there 1week ago,it was freezing cold with a bright sunny sky,perfect weather for a nice picure shoot!!

i was particularly amazed by the b29/tu4 awacs,the f5 still bearing svnaf markings,and the u2 remnants.

while visiting the tunnel,i noticed next to the end,a piece of junk hidden under a camo fillet,it's general shape made me think of a small sr71,but i could see no markings on it.

any info?

I've looked closely at the video at 6:51 sec's but can't make anything out. It could be a model of a SR-71 Blackbird like the model Apache Helicopter also in the tunnel. If you look at my Kiev and Minsk Aircraft Carrier videos, you will see the Chinese like to make model aircraft.

This is not the Beijing Aviation Museum - this is Datangshan - China Aviation Museum 大汤山. The Beijing Aviation Museum is in Beijing and is adjacent to Beijing University as part of their campus.
