Simple Minds performing "Someone somewhere in summertime" in 1982. A rare studio performance. Please note: The video quality & audio from the original source are awful (better slightly after 25 seconds). I have shrunk the screen to give it the illusion of more definition. The original audio has been replaced (it is only a mimed performance anyway). Any further info on dates etc? A yellow cross was built for the studio set.
Lyrics:-
Stay, I'm burning slow
With me in the rain, walking in the soft rain
Calling out my name
See me burning slow
Brilliant days, wake up on brilliant days
Shadows of brilliant ways will change all the time
Memories, burning gold memories
Gold of day memories change me in these times
Somewhere there is some place, that one million eyes can't see
And somewhere there is someone, who can see what I can see
Someone, Somewhere In Summertime
Moments burn, slow burning golden nights
Once more see city lights, holding candles to the flame
Brilliant days, wake up on brilliant days
Shadows of brilliant ways will change me all the time
Somewhere there is some place, that one million eyes can't see
And somewhere there is someone, who can see what I can see
Someone, Somewhere In Summertime
Good work as always digging up classic Simps. Thanks!

Gotta be one of my fave songs from SM, and from one of the best albums ever recorded, I could listen to this album all day.... and do leave it repeating on the car stereo, great post Tony.

@YCSMusic Cheers Steve! This is a bit on the grainy side but I've tried to rejuvenate it a little. Possibly the best lyrics Jim ever wrote.....
