  • I too was taken by the perfection of this voice; I had to find it. It's Ian Partridge, and lest we forget in the shadow of that other Ian, this one was perhaps the most gifted English tenor. This song can be found on Finzi and His Friends, still in print (Amazon).

  • Thanks for your help with finding out who is singing. :-D

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Amazing!!!!!!BEAUTIFUL. The best version

Can you tell me the name of the Tenor????

    Thanks for posting!

  • Sorry. I dont know the name of the tenor. Glad you liked it. :)

  • Worth noting that this was Finzi's last song - it was finished one month before his death, and published posthumously, like all the songs in Oh Fair to See.

  • @vazquezbare Ian Partidge..

  • Its Ian Partridge... Bostridge can't sing this with so much legato and tenderness in the top notes.. This music is Sublime! shoot! If i can only get my hands in this pieces... damn, i'd be happier than the poet who wrote this poems.. ^^

  • THis is definitely Ian Partridge singing.

  • Who is the pianist? This is beautiful playing and it is just as important to know who is playing as who is singing. After all, this is art song.

  • its actually neither of them. i wish i knew who it was because i am curious as well, but i know it is neither of those singers.

  • At first I thought it was John mark Ainsley, since he has given out a record with this song, but now i hear that it cant be him. Maybe, just maybe it's Ian Partridge, it sounds like him, although the recording is of rather bad quality
