On August 11th and 12th 2007 on the 3km track of the CERAM Center in France, Francesco Russo tried to break the hour record in his Ristretto, a faired recumbent.
He failed twice due to fog in his fairing and to a puncture.
On July 30th, 2010, Francesco reached 84.345 km in one hour with the Ristretto.
---------------------------------

The rider is Much too thin for a flat time trial like this. Being lightweight is only helpful if one is climbing. They could have done far better if they would have chosen a professional time trial rider. I think Fabian Cancellara was racing then. They should have gotten him to do it.

A small hole right in the front tip and another in the back would vent and not add drag.
