Jailed Ethiopian dissident blogger Eskinder Nega will stand trial in March for all of the terrorism accusations initially advanced by prosecutors, a federal high court judge ruled yesterday, local sources said. If convicted on all charges, he could face the death penalty. The Ethiopian Federal High Court on January 19, 2012 convicted Ethiopian journalists and opposition members with sentences from 15 years to life imprisonment or death. The duo Swedish Journalists were sentenced to 11years imprisonment last year in December for being a voice to a voiceless. There're countless Ethiopians who're being incarcerated in kaliti, Makelawi and other Ethiopian notorious prisons primarily because of their legitimate and peaceful criticism of the government, and that the prolonged series of arrests and prosecutions indicates systematic use of the law and the pretext of counter-terrorism by Meles Zenawi's dictatorial regime to silence people who criticize or question its actions and policies.
