Breakeven (Arthur/Gwen)

This fanvid was created for pheniox_girl, who graciously placed a bid on my fanvid offer over at Help_Chile on LJ. Thank you so, so much for your donation! I had such a wonderful time working with you, creating this vid, and, most of all, getting to know you.

Plot (a mixture of AU and canon): Gwen, convinced that she is not worthy of becoming queen and recognizing that Camelot is too important for Arthur to give up for her, ends her relationship with Arthur. Believing that Arthur needs to move forward with his life, and knowing that she must as well, she starts a relationship with Lancelot, hoping it will move Arthur to find the queen he deserves and that it will somehow help her heal. Arthur, however, isn't aware of the motivations behind Gwen's decision to be with Lancelot. Arthur is convinced that Gwen felt trapped by her relationship with Arthur, by everything she would have to give up to pursue a relationship with the future king ("'Cause I got time while she got freedom"), well aware that she wouldn't have to go to such lengths with Lancelot. Bitter and heartbroken, Arthur distances himself from Gwen, not knowing that she is just as miserable and heartbroken as he. Eventually the hostility reaches breaking point, threatening any chance of reconciliation -- romantic or platonic. Arthur finally realizes how his actions have hurt Gwen and how she has truly faired through this ordeal. He finds himself in her house once again, the same place where months earlier she ended their relationship, and apologizes. Gwen, in return, acknowledges that she hurt him as well. Believing that there's still a chance, Arthur admits that he still loves her, and once again Gwen is faced with a choice. Her decision? Just as with the show, for now it remains a mystery.
