This song, again by Kazi Nazrul Islam, is a popular number in Bengal. Belonging to the genre of Shyamasamgeet, it ushers in the flavour of festivities again after the Durga Pujas. A large section of Shyama sangeet is observed to describe mundane life as opposed to only divinity. Mostly in such cases the narrator shares his/her daily thoughts, miseries, pleas to the Divine Mother. The sheer closeness of the Atma and Paramatma is the uniqueness of these songs. This particular song is set on the common Ramprasadi tune that makes us Bengalis very nostalgic.
Pics accompanying this song are of the Kali Puja celebration (of 2007) that commemorates every year in our home in Kolkata on the new moon night (Diwali) after the Durga Pujas.
The lyric is very meaningful and melodious. Many thanks for this upload and the explanatory foreword as well

This is one of my favorite song. In fact i like Nazrul's Shyama sangeet most. His wordings come truly from his heart and that is why it touches the heart of common man like me. one of the greatest regret of my life that I have not been able to meet him in his life time. That is why I visited Bangladesh to bow down to his grave and pay my regard. For me it was a long cherished holy pilgrimage. For me he is greatest poet India has produced. My thousand salute to Kazi nazrul Islam. - Dr.S.K.Basu
