  • Smoking kills!

  • Careful, Man. You might get banned for having a screen of youtube in your vid. I HATE COPYRIGHT!!!! I'm making an Iron Man video and all it's got is Black Sabbath's Iron Man playing in the background, while playing random clips from the current Iron Man movie, but I can't upload it because of this copyright BS. It's edited really well too. Darn!

  • I agree YouTube should be a haven for free speech. But it doesn't have to be because it's privately owned. I'm only saying all this because it's pretty clear to me that if you go up against YouTube for taking down videos, you don't have much of a legal leg to stand on.

  • And fair us doesn't cover someone using 'small clips' of other people's work if the bulk of the work is those clips. That is, a significant portion of the work must be original. A compilation of small clips of someone else's work is not 'fair use.' That'd be like 'creating' a song using nothing but samples and loops of other people's tunes.

  • YouTube is a free service. They have every right to censor as they see fit as we are loaned space on their service. When it comes to copyright, they take no chances. Arbitrary enforcement is up to YouTube. This site is not owned by the public. It's like if I let you use the side of my barn to paint a message for free. I have every right to censor you. YouTube is the barn we all get to paint on. They can paint over whatever they want to.

  • XD Hard to find? Pfft.

  • Help Center/Policy and CR Guidelines/What is your policy... doesn't seem very hard to find. "Be sure that all components of your video are your original creation" limits their responsibility in anything. But why aren't they allowed to censor? We feel entitled for YouTube to owe us free speech but who says? Its their service, their rules they should get the say to do whatever they'd like.

  • Good work.

I would love to know how they choose what stays and what goes when it comes to copyright infringement.

Right now it is really biased

  • hiya stranger once again some good investigative reporting on a issue that should concern all of us, keep up the good fight, lookig forward to the next installment
