@pylonsz, borders has an acoustic version of this song as a companion disc on the CD, "Anything Anytime Anywhere." It's from a recording with Bruce Cockburn in a Vermont PBS studio, just Cockburn and his guitar. The companion disc also contains a one-minute acoustic lead to the song only guitar. Very cool.

Well, in my opinion, there are two axioms that are so true. One is "what goes around comes around." The other, as this song expresses, "the trouble with normal (does) always get worse". Bruce Cockburn tells us like it is, I guess, just call it democracy.

I once started writing a short story around the theme of "what's normal?" -- maybe I'd been studying too much psych at the time... ahh how I miss my undergrad years.
