I've spoken to enough people at conferences both regional and national where people don't know GVSU...few do. What you said is complete conjecture, but my claims have a bit of conjecture to them as well so I'll leave it.

"Only a handful of schools are able to comprehend what a meme is..." Are you living in a bubble?  Facebook meme pages were one of the hottest Facebook trends ever...stop making stuff up.

We will just have to agree to disagree. I too have left West MI & have lived & traveled around the country. I have also studied at & worked for other universities. I find that non-GV grads do know about GV & speak of it positively. And, when it comes to higher ed., I have found that only a handful of schools are able to comprehend what a meme is, let alone create from it. It isn't that I love everything that GV does; it is that watching this made me smile & it made my non-GV friends smile too.

Just to be clear-I'm not bashing GVSU. I had a wonderful time there and definitely had experiences and opportunities that set me up to move up in the world. If anything I am challenging the idea that we need to praise everything GVSU does because its GVSU. It's possible to still be supporting of a university while critiquing what they do.
