A freezing rain storm effects Toronto with ice and snow.

During the first few seconds of the clip you will see two flashes near the bottom left of the screen, the two flashes are likely transformers or power lines arcing. After that you can see an ice laden tree banding touching a swinging power line and another ground which has already fallen.

This storm produced nearly 1000 local outages across Toronto and something like 10,000 outages across the GTA and other parts of Southern Ontario.

  • I didn't notice the second flash. Why didn't that street light go out?

  • I didn't even notice the flashes first time round. I probably should've checked the description first. ;)

  • I first thought those flashes were lightning.
