In my defence I never trained on full size steam :( However when I said duplex I should be saying "Cross Compound" pumps. My apologies for any confusion I may have caused.

VR Passenger engines always seem to have the Simplex Compressors They are single stage and fitted to D3 A2 and R Class amongst others. The K Class, J Class N Class,, X Class and H Class being freight engines should have had low pressur and High pressure Duplex type compressors

Hello Mike, Any chance of adding the compressor chuffing? When you run the compressor we hear the clicking of the links and the piston sound reversing as a click click click.
In fact as the compressor is steam driven, it chuffs a regular beat, which is particularly nice to hear and I am hoping it could be added. Listen to this D3 (also a simplex pump, aat Southern Cross At 00.27 and before the engine moves near 00.50 you will hear the exhaust chuff as the compressor charges the Main Reservoir :)
