With the Conservatives flirting with 40% (the traditional magic number for a majority government), Liberals have once again fallen back on the tired strategy of appealing to New Democrats and Greens to vote "strategically" in order to prevent a Conservative majority. Personally, I will never cast a vote for the Liberal Party because, frankly, I don't think that a Liberal Government would be any better than a Conservative one. Some of my readers might remember a time when the Liberals stood up for working people, but that was over two decades ago. For most of my lifetime it's been the Liberal Party that has pushed free trade, economic deregulation, the gutting of public health care and employment insurance, etc. My feeling is that people should vote for the party that best reflects their values and ideas. For me, that's the NDP. Every time we give in to pressure and vote "strategically", we lose another piece of our democracy. Not only that, but we legitimate the policies of the party for which we vote. I will never vote Liberal because I don't support their policies.

  • DevinAJohnston,

You're cutting off your nose to spite your face. There is a huge ideological difference between the Liberal Party and the Conservatives. If Harper were the Prime Minister at the start of the Iraq war Canada would be there now too. And the consequences of that decision would've been catastrophic for Canada. Your choice along with like minded voters are going to give Harper the majority he seeks.

  • It appears to be a Conservative government so the best would be an NDP Opposition. It is time for the left minded voters to support the NDP.

  • I agree the lesser of the evils is Conservative Minority but if they get Majority we are all screwed!!! But if it meant keeping it a minority gov' I would vote liberal but I don't have to because in my riding NDP seems to always win and thats the party I have seemed to have always voted.
