Follow a team of volunteers and a modern family who turn back the clock to recreate life as it was for the upper classes and their servants in a country house in 1910.
This series was was first aired in the UK as The Edwardian Country House
in April, 2002 and was later broadcast in the U.S. on various PBS stations in 2003 as Manor House.

The series begins with a group of diverse people settling in their roles as servants while a family takes on the roles of their masters all living in a Scottish Mansion.

  • the master of the house doesn't have his own valet? only in the smallest of houses did the butler double as the valet and this house is anything but small

  • Lucy Garside is still young and has got to learn. She just needs more time and discipline to get use to the Edwardian era.

  • Reading some of these comments about Lucy the scullery maid is very amusing. Many of you are taking her inability to adjust to being an Edwardian servant as an enroachment upon your fantasy. It's a little disgusting.

    So what, if she couldn't deal with it? Why take it so personal? It's ridiculous. Why not view this series as a social study to see if a 21st person can live in the past, instead of demanding that person live in the past in order to support your fantasy?
