Off of the Great Dog, a BVI Airplane wreck. This is part 2 of 2. Notice the creepy grouper that is missing an eye and part of his top fin. Didn't want us in there for sure. Also a turtle living in the cockpit. It was not there when we went down, but the second divers saw it.
Did you go with a group called odyssey expeditions?

No.. we did these dives on our own from our chartered sailboat. The plane was hardest to find since the clarity was not that good. You could easily miss it since the ocean floor is very sandy. It just appears. If you go on your own, I strongly recommend a compass and area diving book to describe the mooring spot. Beside the plane, there isn't a whole lot there. Saw a large school of barracuda.

How did it sink?

The wreck are remains of an small inter-island commuter plane originally operated by the now defunct Atlantic Air BVI. Following an abortive take-off from Beef Island which ended with the plane in the water 200 yds off the end of the runway. The BVI dive operators were able to persuade the owners to give the fuselage over for use as a dive site and this was sunk in about 50 ft of water on the edge of the sand east of the dive boat moorings.
