Devon Baldwin, with help from Executive Producer, Mitch Koulouris, from Gigatone Entertainment, and Producer, Jeff Tamelier, from The Track Shack, bring new life to the classic song 'I'll Melt With You.'
Devon auditioned at age 17 for Fox's American Idol 8 in San Francisco, and was one of the Top 54 contestants who was cut at the Judge's mansion.
Recorded at Sacramento's The Track Shack, 19-year old Devon Baldwin is joined by Jeff on guitar, the legendary Bobby Vega on Bass, and long-time rock drummer, Donny Baldwin (no relation) recording I'll Melt With You.
Considered a New Wave classic, I'll Melt With You was originally recorded by Modern English, a Punk band that mostly performed songs that were a lot more raw than this one.
The song has become part of our music lexicon, featured in numerous commercial releases, including the 1983 movie Valley Girl, a 1990 commercial for Burger King, the 2004 movie 50 First Dates, and the 2005 movie Sky High, where Bowling For Soup changed the lyrics from "Making love to you" to "Being friends with you."
Recently, I'll Melt With You was featured in a Hersey's ad.
The song was re-released by Modern English in 1989, when it achieved its highest U.S. chart position of #76.
