A kid chooses the only envelope with a playing card in it. He then manages to cut to that card.

I use language patterns and visual suggestions to achieve this effect.

  • Then explain to be Thanar2 why I initially hold my hands on both the envelopes that need to be removed and I ask the kid that leevas TWO! Now point TWO the one that appeals to you the most and I point to that envelope.

  • Pssst there have to be some secrets. But you are right, I did consciously mirror a bit and also I did blatantly point to the envelope #2. A verbal suggestion needs to be complimented with a visual one and vice versa to improve our odds.

  • Cool stuff! You have added great videos to Youtube!

    Question: Are you Dutch?

  • Yes I am Dutch, I was working in the US these last few weeks. With a name like RadjiKoeMarie I assume you are Dutch as well.

  • In the selection of the envelope at the start, you are simply doing a force by deciding to REMOVE the two envelopes he chose (rather than keeping them) and then choosing to KEEP the one envelope he chose of those two. Nothing to do with NLP or mirroring at all.

  • that's what she said1!

  • nice

  • Very interesting!!! You are not very elaborate with your explanation though. I noted some other things you did not explain ;)

For example: You constantly kept rapport by mirroring the young man. You reestablished rapport before moving along with a joke and mimicking the boy's laughter --you also kept your hands pretty much the same as the boy. Also I noticed you pacing and leading.

The choice of envelope --besides the language pattern you also pointed at it. You know your NLP!

  • Great job! The kid is very suggestable!
