During a news conference and ceremony held today in downtown Muskegon, Baker College of Muskegon officials unveiled the name of its new culinary arts program facility: The Culinary Institute of Michigan (CIM). Officials also announced the names of the new restaurant, Courses, as well as the new pastry and coffee shop, the Sweet Spot. Both offerings will be integral to the new facility located at the south corner of Third Street and Clay Avenue. What started in 1997 with just 40 students has grown to become one of the top culinary arts colleges. Our new, 39,000-square-foot facility in downtown Muskegon, with its full-service restaurant, pastry and coffee shop, will make it possible to do even more to ensure our students graduate with solid credentials in the culinary arts as well as the real-life experience that strengthens their knowledge and professionalism.
