I first heard about this anime like two days ago and I have to say that it is one of the best I have seen in a while. And it is truly a powerful scene but I will have to agree with another poster here who said that the ninth episode was the saddest. I had tears in my eyes when it ended.

this was the only anime that made me cry. because of that this is one of my personal favorite anime. a good story has to capture the audience and make them feel for the characters.
i have never felt sad for a character in a mainstream anime.

However, I don't see it that way, at least not anymore. Now I think of robots of the future as the successors of humanity. Eternal living proof that we mankind existed. If in the event humans are wiped out, the robots continue on after we are all dead and gone to live on in our memory. A concept touched upon in recent films such as Bicentennial Man and AI: Artificial Intelligence.

This scene was truly inspiring. I had an epiphany about half-way through this scene when I remembered that all these characters including the singer were robots. Imagine, robots with an appreciation for music and art that can understand and maybe even experience the subtleties of human emotion; what some might call the "silicon soul". In most works of science fiction involving robots, they are at best portrayed as comic relief and at worse the harbingers of our extinction.

how can this be under rated i mean i does have its flaws but i thin with MINOR tweaking to make it more appealing while keeping its core plot and art work intact will benifit this work of art

TRULY A MASTERPIECE ANIME!!! It's such a shame that only a few people appreciate the beauty of this art. From animation to storyline everything is so deep and almost perfect. And with Janice's songs it became something more godly.

Wow this the most epical anime I have seen in years made a grown man cry lol love it! The ending leaves you thinking alot and makes you reflect on the real meaning and purpose of life.
As the series progress, the deepness and the symbolism of the issues this anime presents are deepened. There was no filler, every anime had its purpose and meaning.
This anime from start to end is like a poem. Pure art. <3

I have to say that Casshern is a tragic and the scariest hero ever when he is fighting. I have to say he is purely awesome fighter. The show is definetly one the best have I ever seen in 2010 besides The Legend of the Legendary Heroes and Rainbow, and Monster also Johan was truly a devil.
