The first semi-successful flight of the Chiindii quadcopter project. Only hovered for a couple of seconds, but it it definitely getting close. This is after tuning in a single-axis pitch / roll jig (see http://chiindii.digitalcave.ca for pictures of this) to get correct PID values.
This was an indoor flight, but I think that it would be much better to try again outdoors; not having flown any sort of aircraft before, and (presumably) not having the exact PID values required, means that a large space is needed. A small bedroom is not quite large enough (as a later flight that clipped a wall emphasized).
