as far as I know Dylan Thomas wasn't a tortured artist - he was a happy one for the most part - and one that enjoyed drinking beer in pubs and writing obscene limericks while e did so. Carmina Burana is way too dramatic for this.
Actually this was filmed in the same valley that Thomas actually stayed in - Glenlough, Port, Co. Donegal. And it is pretty wild out there... so yes, it is realistic.
The musical piece is 'O fortuna - Carmina Burana' by Carl Orff. It reflects the highs and lows of life, like the waxing and waning of the moon. A bit like the Donegal highlands that beautifully reflect the different shades of green - from bright fresh to the gloomy greys. Agree, Donegal has warmth despite the bleeding rain. But, sometimes its mans inability to be alone that drives him nuts. "Solitude vivifies; isolation kills." Good work James, keep the creative juices flowing.
Perhaps he was stressed because all he could drink there was "Old Spice" aftershave and maybe that is why he didn't shave too!!!!

I can't work out if this is supposed to be funny or not but it's hilarious.
Like Monty Pythons idea of a tortured writer lol.

WOW! This is gripping! The actor portrays really expressively the tormented soul of the writer. Amazing scenery too!
