Sebastian Mallaby tells the inside story of the world of hedge funds and the non-stop effort to make as much money as possible on the riskiest trades. He discusses what he calls the It Boys of 21st century capitalism with the U.S. Managing Editor of Financial Times newspaper, Gillian Tett.
This book and Too Big Too Fail and Big Shorts are a must read. After reading these books it will become hard to believe some of the absurd conspiracy theories that are out right now. A prime example being that the Fed is privately owned blah blah blah....

This is a free fucking country. If 'ordinary people' want a piece of the risk, let them have it! Why should I have to have 5m to get access to the best opportunities?! It's legal for people to go to Vegas. Unbelievable.

Interesting what he says about there being even more barriers to entry in hedge funds. See many places where rules prevent one from getting access to a big game or becoming wealthier. The wealthy small percentage currently seems enough and they want to keep power. The government wants to tax away money from middle folks to keep them from becoming wealthy as easily. Keep them also from having ability to even play with the big boys. Plus they bail out the really big boys on backs of middle folks.

If you can not see the current financial system is one huge pyramid scam and nothing but crony favors, you are dellusioned. The fed makes cash out of thin air and lots of ink on paper. Nice scam if you run it.
I bet all you have there is nothing in the vaults of Ft. Knoxx and elsewhere. The fact they are plugging gold orders with spiked golden bars of not gold, they would have dipped into those Ft. Knoxx reserves long ago.
I see why they need billions of new members from islam states.
