My apologies to subscribers who were expecting a carving video, but music is one of my other great passions. I hope you enjoy this video anyway.

For people who own a Yamaha MO6 and would like to try this, I'm using the performance mode setting Campfire1 (User1-B-10). The piece is Bach's Suite III in D, Air on the G String. I've borrowed from a string quartet arrangement, the solo violin part for my right hand and the cello part for my left.

The Campfire1 performance layers piano, strings and a folk guitar which plucks a pattern based on notes/chords input to the keyboard. The folk guitar part generates an occasionally flawed accompaniment to be sure, but all things considered, still does a pretty nice job.

  • This song is absolutely sooo beautiful! I'm getting married in a month and would like for my bridal party to come down the aisle to this version in particuliar... Please tell me how I can get a copy of it. Thank you so very much.

  • The piece is entitled, "Suite III in D, Air on the G String" by J. S. Bach. There are hundreds of recordings available, either on classical CD's, or for download. Congratulations!

  • This is great, I love it!!!!!!

Bob, is it possible to upload the background music (campfire1 or whatever you're using) to PC and send it to me in midi format or MP3? My PSR e413 don't have anything like that. Tried to find on the net but wasn't successful. Thanks..

  • Sorry, karateusa11, but "Campfire1" is what's known as a "Performance Mode" and is only available on certain Yamaha keyboards. It basically generates an accompaniment based on the notes you're playing. BTW, thanks for the compliment.

  • awesome! how do u record the keyboard? straight to a mixer? or do u use the software?

  • On the MO6 you can't record a Performance Mode into the keyboard, so I recorded the piece using Audacity (free download). The keyboard was plugged directly into the line-in of my computer. I then generated a .WAV file which I added to the muted video in Windows Movie Maker. Pretty amateur stuff, really, but I was pleased with the results.
