this was very informative, only thing i would say is that when you talked about "beat battling", you mentioned only men, as if there are no female producers... i'm a female producer and i instantly felt disconnected with your message...

That's a good tip to drive home to amateurs and seasoned veterans alike: you gotta market and promote your craft, just having it on the website is nothing. (And of course, make sure the product is worth marketing - but that goes without saying!)
I've been making fire beats and face-melting music of a wide variety of diverse genres (including film-scores and video game cues) for nearly 10 years, all self-taught as well.
