Just stop arguing with Lee, He obviously does not understand that competition ALWAYS leads to better service and lower prices. Most 'liberals' have been indoctrinated into the belief that government is always the answer rather than the problem. What they do not understand is that they are not even liberals anymore. True liberals want nothing to do with an oppressive government.

Don't be stupid, lee. Communications companies stay in business only be giving consumers what they want. Fox is the most watched cable news channel - it would be corporate suicide to not offer Fox News.

leave it to a liberal to resort to ad hominem attacks as soon as you hear something you don't like

Ugh, can't down-thumb this lying cretin enough.
Way to defeat your own argument:
"Comcast handles internet traffic just fine now"...Well then, why do they need to change anything? Net Neutrality is about keeping companies from shutting out competition to increase profits, simple as that. Companies like Comcast insist that they need to do this in order to more effectively handle bandwidth...It's a fucking lie, and you're only hurting yourself by arguing in their favor, you tool-shed.

Xanadu! But dear Seton, wasn't that in CHINA?? Yikes. Anyhow, we all know that forcing ISPs out of the content relegation business will simultaneously hamper their efforts to create faster networks. I mean it isn't as if better networks would be the only way for these service providers to differentiate themselves in a competitive non-tied market right?

"seton" is full of shit. His constant stuttering, when saying the words even he doesn't believe, reminds me of how disillusioned and ignorant people can be. Thanks. moron! :D

That sucks. If the area is that tech savvy, and many others in the area feel like you, that sounds like an untapped market. Much easier said than done, and a real pain in the ass to do, but sounds like you could make some money, and provide a superior product to the people in your area by starting a new company.

Where I live (a highly populated VERY tech savvy area; Seattle's Eastside) it's Comcast or nothing. And yes I count satellite and dial up as nothing.

Do you pay $100 to play world of warcraft currently? Because he is advocating leaving things as they are. If your current provider ups the price, then go to a cheaper competitor.

If you don't like the service comcast provides you, then you are free to end your service with them and take your business to one of their competitors, that doesn't regulate what you visit on the internet. When the government gets involved, you can't switch to a competitor without a revolution, which would most likely involve many deaths. So freedom or lots of blood spilled, what sounds better?

this would be a lot more believable if he didn't misquote the laws in place. The net neutrality proposal that was approved on dec 21 DOES NOT prevent companies from charging more for faster service. They DO however prevent companies from blocking competitor's sites, which keeps access neutral. I don't want the government OR comcast tellin me where I can and can't go...
