ABV: 18%
RateBeer rating: 100/95.6
Calories: estimated at 300 C
Volume: 12 fl oz
Glass: 4 oz wine
Purchased at: Joe Canalss, Lawrenceville. NJ
Price: $8.49
Consumed at: home

First Impression: Aroma is alcohol, raisins, prunes, fruity, wineish. Visuals are an exquisite ruby body, a very small tan head but great legs and lacing. Taste is grapey, full of various barleys, chocolate, cocoa, and flowers, perfume, rum, prunes, figs, sand. Palate is wet and thick to start, but with a quite dry, long, finish. A very deep and luxurious feel. Much more enjoyable as you get used to the overwhelming nature of it. Much like the 120 minute IPA, appreciation comes with time. Second Impression - a very deep, slightly off balance, but still very amazing beer. You have to sip it and pause to enjoy it, but if you take a calm approach, youll be thoroughly rewarded. On second thought, youll be amazed.

Aroma: 10 out of 10, Visuals: 4 out of 5, Taste: 9 out of 10, Palate: 5 out of 5

Overall: 17 out of 20. A very rich, intense experience, and quite enjoyable, if you give it a minute.

  • oh and the 120 minute IPA is also excellent, thought the 60 minute was good... though there are better... have not tried the 90 minute, as every time I've ordered beer online it's been sold out.

  • Living in New Jersey here, so with Delaware bordering to the south (and DFH is on the northern edge of DE) we have almost everything they offer here. They are a staple of my beer diet, as it's always well done, always interesting, and always respectful to the craft, while doing new things for the style. Cheers!

  • See how small the bubbles on the head are. Means the beer is well conditioned. I dont like some of the dogfish head brews. However the ones I like are beyond words.

  • @colt45allstar the 90 is one of my favorite beers.

  • @colt45allstar If you get the chance to eat at a Dogfish Head restaraunt, try the Alehouse 75 beer. Its a mix of a 60 and 90 minute, and processed through a Randall for some extra hop character. It is quite good.

  • The 60 minute is like the 90 without the sugary taste and instead you get a more dry hop bite. But it's 6%. 90 is my shit tho.

  • The 90 minute is like the 120 minute minus the alcohol kick (oh it still has some kick but not that feeling similar to hard liquor* and a bit of the apricot flavor.

  • That beer is probably my favorite beer of all time.

  • Love this beer, the high octane kick is a nice side benefit as well.

Have only had it once, since Dogfish Head doesn't distribute in Missouri.. had to order it online among others... but it was worth it.
