Arming less than friendly people to fight much less friendly people is unfortunately a very strategic move, one that can certainly backfire. I don't blame any politician on any side for having to make such a decision. It's a very difficult, but sometimes necessary, move. Ronald Reagan put an end to the Cold War. In that respect, it's obviously a positive outcome

@freesoul2005 Clinton bombed people, created the greatest program for Mexican drug smugglers ever (NAFTA), and had the easiest Presidency of any President in the latter half of the 20th century. The largest creation of wealth (i.e. IT boom) had nothing to do with Clinton).

You or I could have done as well as that man. He's a smart man, no doubt about it. But so was Jimmy Carter, who was an absolute awful one. Clinton was blessed with an economy that could do no wrong, thanks to IT guys.

You might as well say that Clinton and Bush cost Perot the election. Think about it: if both Clinton and Bush had withdrawn in October, there's an excellent chance Perot would have won.
